Building on the success of last years’ ‘Get Involved’ event, this is a chance for local people and visitors to appreciate Swansea's proud industrial heritage and help us breathe new life into the Hafod-Morfa site during a family-friendly, action-packed day.

View the progress made so far as a result of the regeneration project, follow the new trails, and enjoy the heritage features and artwork which have recently been installed on the site.

A full programme of all the activities being planned will be available shortly but here is a taste of what will be on offer:

  • Music from; Stu’s Gastric Band, Bear Bones and Andy Tamlyn Jones
  • Performance  from community groups at Mount Zion Chapel, Pentrehafod School, Ysgol Bryn Tawe, Maesyderwen School
  • Films from Connected Communities Projects, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery
  • Children’s activities from David Pitt and lona Towler Evans
  • Copper making demonstrations and strike your own commemorative coin making activity.
  • Workshops from Connected Communities projects, Robert Protheroe Jones on the history of copper in Swansea, Mumbles Brewery on the copper-beer connection, Swansea Museum Collection Centre on How to look after your  treasures
  • Tours of the site and the adjacent White Rock site throughout the afternoon. Scavenger Hunt organised by Glamorgan Gwent Archaeological Trust.

You’ll find the event at the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks site, close to the Liberty Stadium, next to the Landore Park and Ride Car Park, just off the A4217.
