Event summary: This special event will mark the next stage in the Cymunedau Cysylltiedig project http://swanseavalleyhistory.com/ and will celebrate the continued development of heritage research with a community focus. The event will highlight the exciting potential for this research to shape the future development of the City of Swansea.

Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) the bi-lingual project, led by Professor Huw Bowen, forms part of the AHRC’s Connected Communities programme ‘Research for Community Heritage’.

Working closely with the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), and other partners, Cymunedau Cysylltiedig has built sustainable links between Swansea University and local community groups and continues to support and develop local community research.

The Cymunedau Cysylltiedig project will considerably enhance the Cu @ Swansea Project, the exciting initiative led by Swansea University in partnership with the City and County of Swansea to develop the 12 ½ acre site of the former Hafod and Morfa Copperworks in the Lower Swansea Valley.
